The Repsol rider Casey Stoner finished third in a complex MotoGP race after a hard duel in the heavy rain at the circuit of Le Mans. Jorge Lorenzo was the fastest and was followed home by Valentino Rossi. Dani Pedrosa, on the other hand was fourth.

The Australian Repsol Honda Team rider has announced, at the circuit of Le Mans, that he has decided to retire from racing at the end of the current season. Casey Stoner explained that this difficult decision has been taken for “personal reasons”. The number 1 in the paddock, two times World Champion, is at the moment the leader of the overall classification.

MotoGP goes to France this weekend for the fourth date in the calendar, and at a historic circuit: Le Mans. After a brilliant start to the season, the riders in the Repsol team will be after the victory in the three classes. Casey Stoner, Marc Márquez and Maverick Viñales all won at this venue last year.

Dani Pedrosa emphasises the fact that Mans is a complicated circuit, Stoner recalls that he has had all types of result at this venue, Marc Márquez likens the French track to Estoril and Maverick Viñales and Miguel Oliveira say that they like the track very much. But above all the riders in the Repsol team are dying to get out onto the track and prepare the French Grand Prix.
