The XV edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally up and running
Barcelona was one of the venues chosen for the start of the XV edition of the Historic Monte-Carlo Rally, 49 cars participated as they start off on a journey that will take them to the finishing line in Monaco. This rally which will last seven days will finish on Sunday 5th February.
According to the regulations for this race any car participating in the rally can be any vehicle that has taken part in the Monte Carlo Rally proper since 1980. Turin, Reims, Warsaw, Oslo and Glasgow are the other cities, together with Barcelona, that have the honour of hosting the start of this year`s rally.
The start held in the capital of Catalunya, was organised by the RACC for the tenth consecutive year and notable people present included General Secretary of Sports at the Generalitat – regional government - Ivan Tubau, and an official from the City Hall – cuarto teniente del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, Maite Fandos, among others.
This year`s road race is made up of a concentration stage, a classification stage, two regularity stages and a final leg in the capital of Monaco.
